NewUrbanism is an important and sustainable issue in China. By 2035, it is expected that more than three hundred million will move from “rural” areas to the “city”. To accommodate this massive population migration, China is planning to build thousands of townships for 100,000 – 200,000 residents, starting in 2013.The Chinese Government has plans that will provide significant assistanceto local districts as part of a stimulus package to accomplish “green building and sustainable communities” growth. Urbanization will lead to the growth of domestic energy consumption and hence requires a successful implementation of ideas and policies that will be the resolution to address the environmental global triple crisis.
“Collaboration” and “system Integration” are the key words in driving effective new urbanism that inevitably affects “water”, “air” and “soil” which are the foundation of the environment and the essential factors that keep any “sustainable community” healthy and liveable. Hear how Macao, together with the Pan－Pearl River Delta Region, has the potential to be the international information platform and driver of sustainable community development in this region and beyond.posted by LiveDesk
